Missionary Mom

Dane has been on his mission for six months now. The time is slowly going fast!! Just two more weeks and we get to talk to him on Mother's Day. It will be our first phone call to Costa Rica. This is a picture of him in the tiny house in San Jose where he and his companion Elder Garcia live.

It's Great to be 42

There are a lot of great things about being in your 40's. One of my favorite things is being a grandma, or Nana as I'm called. Last week we got to tend Ethan and Logan for 5 days while Nanette and Chris took a vacation to South Dakota. We had a lot of fun. I took some videos with my digital camera and got some funny ones of Ethan but Logan freezes when he sees the camera and quits talking. Ethan is really into dogs and loved having Katie and Aaron's dog here for a couple of days.

Another nice thing about being 42 is that my kids are pretty much grown up. For instance, I just sent Naomi to the grocery store with a list and coupons to do the shopping for the week. The chances that she'll come back with some things that aren't on my list are great, but if that includes a Reeses peanut butter cup for me that I forgot to write down I'll forgive her the hairspray she'll probably get for herself. Speaking of Naomi, she just got a job at Lee's in Logan. Yay!

Jumping In

I've enjoyed others blogs so much that I thought I'd see what it would take to have my own. Little did I know that in just two steps there would be no turning back and here I am! I feel a little out of place doing this, like I'm pushing my way into the younger generation, but here I am world! I learned how to text so I can learn how to do this, right? We'll see.
